Webinar on Decommissioning and Well P&A – Brazil Norway
A growing number of offshore wells, platforms, and subsea infrastructure soon must be decommissioned In Brazil and Norway. The permanent closing of wells has been identified as the most expensive part of the process and is estimated that more than 7000 oil wells in both countries will need to be plug and abandon (P&A) in the coming years. This workshop is organized in collaboration between NORCE (the Norwegian research Centre), SOBENA (The Brazilian society of Naval engineers) and NORWEP- Brazil (Norwegian energy partners), and pretends to provide an up-to-date status to discuss the current challenges in the decommissioning chain with the involvement of regulators, oil operators, universities and research institutes from both countries.
